Overwhelming Fear

"It is said that to succeed, our desire for success should surpass our fear of failure."

When we hear the word "success," our minds often conjure images of fame and wealth. We associate success with professional athletes, millionaires, movie stars, and musicians. While it is true that these individuals can be considered successful for reaching the pinnacle of their respective fields, we must not overlook the struggles, hardships, and setbacks they encountered on their journey. Beyond their natural talents and abilities, the true cornerstone of their success lies in their unwavering determination not to give up or give in.

If we had the chance to converse with any of these "successful" individuals, we would discover that each of them faced moments of hardship that instilled fear within them. Fear of not being good enough, fear of judgment from others, and fear of failure itself.

However, their burning desire to achieve their goals, to surpass their own expectations, and to attain success overpowered their fears. These overwhelming desires propelled them to make choices and decisions that positioned them for success.

Now, let's reflect on ourselves. Do our fears overpower our passions? And if they do, why is that the case? In Luke 12:5, we are reminded that there is only one thing we should truly fear, and the good news is that this one thing wants us to succeed by fulfilling our unique purpose in this world. It states, "But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!"

In light of this wisdom, we are encouraged to examine our fears and put them into perspective. Our ultimate fear should be directed towards the divine, towards failing to fulfill our designed purpose. With this perspective, we can navigate our fears, acknowledging them but refusing to let them dominate our lives.

Every decision we make carries weight and significance. Each choice has the power to either draw us closer to our position of success or push us further away from it. Therefore, it is paramount that we approach each decision with a sense of purpose and determination, refusing to allow our fears to hold us back.

Let us recognize that the desire to succeed, driven by our passions and fueled by a higher calling, can overpower the fears that hinder our progress. By embracing this mindset, we can make every decision count, ensuring that each step we take aligns with our true purpose. Through this intentional approach, we unlock the potential to move closer to our goals, fulfilling our calling and discovering true success.

Fear not the pursuit of success, but rather fear failing to embrace the unique purpose that has been entrusted to us. With this perspective, we can navigate our journey with resilience and determination, making choices that lead us towards our destined position of success.
