I believe that everyone has been designed for a specific purpose that can be found within their passions and if executed have the ability to change their life, future, and family tree.
THE EARLY YEARS
I told my dad at age 11 that I was going to be an insurance agent when I grew up. Mainly because my cousin who owned our family insurance agency had a pool. Does an 11-year-old need a better reason..... I think not. But that is the truth.
After high school and a quick four years in college (with a business degree - you can do better kids), I firmly found solid ground where my 11-year-old self had wished, at our family insurance agency.
Outside having my own pool, (which is still a legitimate reason for an 11-year-old - you can’t change my mind) I had watched my father serve and help others my entire life as a volunteer fireman. I often questioned what drives or motivates a person to wake up in the middle of the night to run into a burning house or to an auto accident to save strangers for no salary or benefits? After years of watching, the answer became clear, it is someone who loves serving and helping others in their greatest time of need. Although being an insurance advisor doesn't require me to run into burning buildings or pull people from overturned vehicles, it does, without a doubt, require me to be there for people who have placed their trust in me, during their greatest time of need.
THE GROWING YEARS
A few years after joining my family agency, my cousin Jimmy Hill and I created the Omega One Insurance Group. Over the next decade, we acquired multiple insurance agencies and combined them into four locations located between Knoxville and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Over this period, we were able to grow over 430% through acquisitional and organic growth, while adding around 20 insurance professionals to our organization.
Today, we have thousands of families, businesses, and farmers who place their trust in us each year for their insurance needs.
TODAY
Even after 23 years of being in the insurance industry, I remain humbled when someone places their trust in me to protect their way of life. Because of the unique opportunity to basically be raised inside a fire department, I understand first responders’ desire to serve. I believe this has assisted in the development of my desire to serve others.
I believe when someone places their trust in my advice, knowledge, and/or recommendations to protect, in some cases, everything they have worked for, have built, and/or their future plans, is the greatest responsibility that anyone can financially place or trust to another person.
This is why my number one rule for myself and my team is to never offer or recommend any product or plan that I or we do not personally buy or would buy if our circumstances required us to do so.
